As the title suggests, this method is really easy to implement by using the Google Chromecast app installed on your device. You will basically stream Kodi to Chromecast using the screen mirror feature of this application. Follow the steps below in order to achieve this without any errors:

  • Once installed, open Google Cast app from the menu and tap on the hamburger menu on the top left corner

  • Now download PlayerFactoryCore.xml file from the given link
  • Open ES File Explorer and from the hamburger menu, select Settings>>Display Settings>>Show hidden files

  • Go to ‘Downloads’ folder on your device and copy the PlayerFactoryCore.xml file you downloaded in step 2 and paste it here: Android->Data->org.xbmc.kodi->files->.kodi->userdata folder

  • Open Kodi app and play your desired video. If you have more than one casting apps installed, it will ask you to choose from the list or else ‘LocalCast’ will launch automatically and load the video you have selected
  • Just select your Chromecast device and hit on ‘Play‘, you are done!

How to Cast Kodi to Chromecast Using a PC

You can also use this method if you are using Kodi on your PC. All you need is the Google Cast chrome extension which will allow you to mirror the entire screen of your PC/laptop to a Chromecast connected display. Here are the steps to get Kodi Chromecast using a PC:

Note: If you are a Windows user connecting to a Chromecast device for the first time, you will also have to install the Chromecast setup client

  • Once installed, start your Chrome browser, click on Google Cast extension and pair up with your Chromecast device from the list
  • Once paired, click again on the extension and you will see an option ‘Cast this tab to…” alongside which you will see a very small drop-down button, click that and from the menu click the option to “Cast screen/window (experimental)

  • Now you will get options to share your “Entire Screen” or the different windows open in your PC, select the Entire Screen option
  • Finally, open Kodi on your PC and play the video you wish to watch and it will play on both your PC and your Chromecast connected TV/display
